Step by Step Guide

Step 1:

Go to Google Spreadsheet, click on “Add-ons” in the menu then “Get add-ons” in the submenu.

Step 2:

A popup will appear and click on search bar and write “Simple Tabular Document Generator”. Press enter key.

Step 3:

Your search has finished with Simple Tabular Document Generator option. Just click on “Install” button.

A popup will appear for the confirmation, click on “Continue” button to continue the installing process.

Step 4:

Another window will open with your Gmail accounts lists. You have to select any one account to proceed with.

Then, another screen will appear with some terms – there you have to click on “Allow” button.

A popup will appear with the message that your app has been installed, click on “Done” button.

Step 5:

Go to the Google Spreadsheet, click the Add-ons menu and you’ll see a new menu called Simple Tabular Document Generator. Click on Configure Simple Doc Generator.

A popup will appear on the right side of the sheet. Prepare the source data, refer to “Simple Tabular Document Generator” mentioned below these steps.

Step 6:

There are 2 horizontal tabs present in the Simple Tabular Doc Generator popup - Add Doc Template, Settings.

Step 7:

Firstly, go to "Add Doc Template" tab. In this, you can add new document templates and with its related details.

In "Select Google Doc Template" you can able to select document and add information into your google sheet by filling the form based on the document selected.

In "Google Doc Template" you can select the document template already present in your google docs.

You can create google Docs by clicking on the menu bar of your email. Select "Docs".

Click on Blank for creating new document. create an invoice template with variables written in {{variable}} and {{variable.variable Name}} notation (1st variable in this notation is heading of the table and 2nd notations are column name of the table). These variables will be replaced by the data in your sheet,then the replaced data will be the description of your event. {{variables}} can't be editable but {{variable.variable Name}} are editable.

Click on "Create Datasheet from Template" to create your datasheet based on the template selected above.

A blank sheet with column name has been created automatically.

Click on "Rows" to select the particular rows for which you want to create document (instead of complete datasheet).

Click on "Apply Filter" if you want to apply filter on any particular column in the datasheet.

Click on "Create Template Data" to capture the inputs based on the document template which you have selected above. It will create forms for each table you have mentioned in your document template.

Fill the following details accordingly.

Click on "Reset" button to reset the form values.

Click on "Add" button to add the values filled in the above form.

You can also set/change input type for every field in the form by clicking on the more icon present on the right side of every input field.

The values filled in the form above will automatically filled in the table. If you want to delete any row or data from the table you have to click on "trash" icon present in the "Action" column of the table.

Click on "Close" button to close the popup.

Click on "Reset" button to reset the complete information you have filled above.

Click on "Save" button to save the values of the form and table in the datasheet.

Click on cross icon present on the top or click on "Close" button to close the popup on the screen.

Click on "Run" button to generate the document based on the information.

Step 8:

Click on second horizontal tab present on the top i.e. "Setting" tab.

In "Default Template Folder" you can select the template folder in which your google docs are present.

In "Documents Destination Folder" you can choose the folder in which you want to save the document template which you had generated using "Simple Tabular Document Generator for Google GSuite".

Step 9:
